Vin Diesel (eigentlich Mark Sinclair Vincent) ist irischer, afro-amerikanischer, schottischer und italienischer Abstammung. Sein erster Film war „Multi-Facial" und wurde auch bei den Filmfestspielen in Cannes gezeigt. Dadurch wurde auch Steven Spielberg auf ihn aufmerksam, der ihn „Der Soldat James Ryan" engagierte. Damit schaffte Vin Diesel den  Durchbruch in Hollywood. Vin Diesel spielt hauptsächlich in Actionfilmen, z.B. „Pitch Black", „The Fast and the Furious", „Triple X". Die Rolle als Riddick in den Filmen „Pitch Black - Planet der Finsternis" und „Riddick: Chroniken eines Kriegers" ist so erfolgreich, dass ein Computerspiel „The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" gemacht wurde.

Die deutsche Synchronstimme von Vin Diesel ist Martin Kessler.
